Following its media review, Bank of India has it empanelled nine agencies for its media mandate. The decision follows post a tender that was floated in September 2010. The media agencies that have been empanelled on the bank’s roaster are Allied Media, Concept Communications, MediaVest Worldwide, Motivator, Goldmine, Prachar Communications, Sobhagya Advertising, Akar Advertising and Esha Advertising.
Following the win of the ITC business, Madison Media has now added the media duties of Pidilite Industries Ltd to its kitty. The win includes the complete portfolio business of Pidilite. There was no multi-agency pitch involved. The account size is pegged at Rs 50 crore. Mediaedge:cia (MEC) was the incumbent agency.
A total of 81 entries for the Effies Awards 2010 have been shortlisted from the 276 entries received this year. From India this year, Ogilvy India, Lowe Lintas and Mudra have scored the maximum entries in the shortlist for Effies 2010. It may be noted that the total number of entries received this year is nearly double that of last year (148 in 2009).
Aniruddha Banerjee has put in his papers at Publicis Ambience as Chairman. Nakul Chopra, CEO-South Asia, Publicis, has confirmed the movement. Chopra further said that he would now directly take charge of Banerjee’s role “until we have achieved certain targets that we have set for ourselves”.
Close on the heels of leveraging the mobile advertising platform, Pune-based Suzlon Energy has appointed Webchutney to work on their digital creative solutions. Webchutney will create, maintain and keep their online platforms in line with global creative and engagement standards. Dharini Mishra, Global Brand Head, Suzlon Group, has confirmed the development.
It is learnt that Belmonte, the economy menswear brand from S Kumars, has invited a few agencies to pitch for its creative mandate. Currently, the brand doesn’t have any creative agency on board. There will be no changes in the media duties and Mindshare will continue to be the media AOR on the business.
Gitanjali Group has been realigning its creative agency for two of its brands. The group has decided to hand over Asmi brand to PerceptH from JWT India. PerceptH has also been assigned the creative mandate for newly launched Shuddhi Jewels, a joint venture between Gitanjali Group and MMTC Ltd. The cumulative account size for the two brands is estimated in the range of Rs 14-15 crore.
Media agency Motivator and GroupM’s out-of-home arm Kinetic are set to see changes in their top management. Rajul Kulshreshtha, currently the Managing Director, Motivator, has been appointed the Managing Director of Kinetic. And Sundeep Sharma, who has been the GM at Motivator, has been assigned the role of Country Head of the agency.
It is learnt that Pune based Suzlon Energy is reviewing its creative business and has invited two or three agencies to pitch for the business. Apparently, the presentations on the pitch have already been made and that the decision will be taken soon, most probably after Diwali. Dentsu Media continues to handle the media business for the brand.
Microsoft Advertising hosted Rich Media Rocks seminar was held in Mumbai on October 26, 2010. The seminar gained insights into the digital marketing and in particular online video advertising as a platform that creates effective campaigns. The seminar witnessed few industry leaders from Microsoft, comScore, My Creative Sherpa, and Media Mind presenting and showcasing their digital experience and upcoming industry trends.
The fiercely competed ITC Ltd. media pitch has finally concluded, and the decision is in favour of Madison World. ITC officials have confirmed this to exchange4media, stating: “As part of the media agency-of-record (AoR) review process, ITC Ltd. has decided to award the media AoR responsibilities to specially created media agency unit of Madison World. This would be effective from January 1, 2011.”
