ASCI introduces advertising code for educational sector; puts draft code up for public review

Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), the self-regulatory body for the advertising content of the Indian advertising industry, will introduce a new set of advertising guidelines for the educational sector. The new advertising content guidelines will apply to ads of all educational institutions, coaching classes and educational programs. The draft of the guidelines has been put up for review, feedback and suggestions on ASCI’s official website - www.ascionline.org.

IRS Q2 2010: HT continues lead in Delhi & Delhi NCR; negative growth for top 2 players

In the Delhi and NCR regions, Hindustan Times has maintained its lead to once again emerge as the strongest player in the market, as per the Indian Readership Survey (AIR) Q2 2010 results. Close rivals, The Times of India, holds ground at number two position. However, the top two players, in both Delhi and Delhi NCR region, recorded a negative growth in readership figures. The English newspaper market in Delhi showed a negative growth of 3.85 per cent whereas the Delhi NCR region recorded a negative growth of 3.08 per cent.

IRS Q2 2010: Four of Top 10 dailies see decline in AIR; no change in order seen among top 5 dailies; Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar lead again

The Indian Readership Survey (IRS) Q2 2010 results have shown no major changes in the top dailies in the country. Dainik Jagran and Dainik Bhaskar continue to lead the pack. There is no change seen in the order of the top five publications even as there are changes in the readership figures. Four of the Top 10 dailies have seen decline in readership in this quarter.
