Rebranding NewsX as IMN News fails to enthuse media planners
IMN News (formerly NewsX) has an uphill task ahead of it, if media planners’ reaction is anything to go by. While the rebranding exercise has been welcomed by the media planners, it’s a wait and watch to see what changes will be effected in its content line-up and positioning. The general consensus is that changing the channel name is not enough.

It seems to be a season of rebranding for TV channels. Close on the heels of NewsX being rebranded as IMN News, now SaharaOne has gone about rebranding its logo and tagline. The new logo is more vibrant and appeals to its core TG. The channel, meanwhile, is clear that its core essence remains unchanged and will continue having a rural focus.

One Show Design 2010 announces the nature of Pencil winners; India bags 1 Silver, 2 Bronzes
The One Club hosted the 2010 One Show Design ceremony at the IAC Building in New York City. One Show Design, the most prestigious international design competition honoured the year’s best in print design, environmental design, corporate identity, publication design, and package design, with Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils. From India, Bates 141 bagged a Silver, while Karigari Design and Out of the Box earned a Bronze Pencil each.
CavinKare moves fruit juice brand Maa from Bates 141 to Rediffusion Y&R
CavinKare has appointed Rediffusion Y&R Chennai to develop the new communication campaign for its fruit juice brand Maa on a project basis. The development has been confirmed by Davinder Singh, Business Head - Beverages, CavinKare. With this CavinKare is moving out of the AoR system by breaking its works into projects. The account was being handled by Bates 141 Chennai, which had bagged the business in March 2009.

Even as the IPL fever is barely fizzing out, the cricket crazy Indian audience already has something to look forward to in the form of ICC T20 World Cup 2010. India’s performance has not been too steady in the tournament and needless to say, the ratings reflect it. The first three matches that India has played in have rated “decent” according to media observers. The non-India matches, however, have thrown some of the lowest ratings.
Renault kicks off India plans; scouts for an advertising partner
Renault is moving aggressively to set the stage for the launch of their cars in India. As part of the first phase of its India plans, post the initial launch in mid-2011, Renault plans to open 70 dealerships across the most important Tier I II cities by end-2013. The automobile company is also evaluating agencies that will handle its advertising, media and online activities for its range of cars entering India mid-2011.
