The pay distribution committee of Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) met in Delhi today to discuss the common issues of the industry and agreed to form a Joint Working Committee to sort out the internal issues/ disputes and drive the industry as a whole. The Joint Working Committee has also agreed to form Regional Sub-Working Committees covering the North, South, East and West Zones of the country.

In India, the creative will be handled by Y&R agency Everest Brand Solutions, while media will be handled by OMD.

It is learnt that Levi’s has roped in Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra for its Diva range of jeans. It may be recalled that earlier Sushmita Sen had been used to advertise the Diva range. The posters in stores are already out and the print campaign will break soon in the market.

I believe nobody is against content regulation, but the difference of opinion is on the mechanism. I am against the view that the Government should have the key for it. I think news broadcasters are capable enough to chalk out a self-control mechanism. In fact, News Broadcasters Association has already made a body under the chairmanship of Justice JS Verma, which keeps guiding the member channels and also has a redressal mechanism. I am also a supporter of clean and responsible journalism, and believe me, the people of this country are mature. The way they oust their leaders in elections, they can also do the same with channels with objectionable content.
