Ramesh Madiwal has joined Integrid Media as Associate Vice President, Sales – OOH business. Prior to this, he was with Laqshya Media, where he had worked for more than four and a half years as General Manager, Sales. At Integrid Media, Madiwal will be reporting to Abhijit Gupte, Co-Founder & Vice President.

Prakash Dharmarajan, President, O&M Chennai, has called it a day at the organisation. Dharmarajan, who had joined O&M from Orchard Chennai in December 2006, has been heading the agency’s Chennai operations for more than three years. The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has invited bids from creative and media agencies for handling the creative and media mandate for Indian Railways. The agencies are being called to build the Indian Railways brand across multi-media platforms. Moreover, media revenue optimisation is needed from media buying agencies, who will be able to market the various advertising opportunities that exist within the Indian Railways system.
The Organising Committee (OC) of the Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010 has invited a proposal for the empanelment of media planning and buying agencies to provide strategic services. The tender closes on July 12. Sources close to the development have pegged the account size for the media business at Rs 25 crore.
And now, it is ITC Ltd’s turn to review its media partner. Even as official comments were not forthcoming at the time of filing the report, it is understood that corporate major ITC is in the process of a media review, wherein the client has invited other agencies to participate. As is known, ITC is one of the largest advertisers with ad spends upwards of Rs 150 crore.
<p align=justify>The radio industry as a whole is going through a very bad phase due to music royalties, high infrastructure costs and licensing fees. There has been a long standing demand from the industry to sort out all these issues. We hope some positive changes will take shape this year. There are several issues that have hampered the radio industry’s progress in the country. Once these issues are sorted, we are planning for expansion. We will look forward to have more stations in West Bengal and the North East.
