It’s been nearly two years that Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) has been present in India and the radio player has already forayed into the digital, radio and DTH spheres with DD DTH (in a recent tie-up with AIR). Continuing with this adaptive approach, RNW has chalked out some aggressive pan-India plans.

ZEEL Q3 net jumps 74 pc; increases stake in Ten Sports, restructures business
ZEEL has reported a net profit of Rs 1,464 million for the third quarter ending December 31, 2009, a 74 per cent increase as compared to Rs 839 million in Q3 FY209. Meanwhile, the company’s Board of Directors has also approved the proposal to acquire additional 45 per cent stake in its subsidiary, Taj TV Ltd Mauritius and additional 50 per cent stake in its subsidiary, Taj Television (India) Pvt Ltd, from Bukhatir Group for $44.145 million.

Consim Info (formerly known as BharatMatrimony) has bagged the Red Herring Global 100 Award. Consim is the only consumer services Internet company in India to have won this prestigious award. Christoph Riess appointed as Group CEO of the enlarged WAN-IFRA
WAN-IFRA, the global, industry organisation for the newspaper and news publishing industry, has announced the appointment of Christoph Riess as the new Group Chief Executive of the enlarged WAN-IFRA industry representative body. This appointment follows the merger of the World Association of Newspapers and IFRA during 2009. Riess will take charge from February 1, 2010.
Charu Bakshi’s 4D IMC mops up business worth Rs 25 cr
It was about two years back that Charu Bakshi had quit Law & Kenneth Delhi to start her own venture, a creative hotshop 4D IMC (Integrated Marketing Communication). Not much has been heard about the agency since its launch, but Bakshi has been busy setting up the operations and the agency has bagged businesses worth Rs 25 crore in the mean time.
IDBI Fortis account: O&M bags creative duties, Equinox to handle media
Following a multi-agency pitch, IDBI Fortis Life Insurance, a JV between IDBI, Federal Bank and Fortis Insurance International, has appointed its creative and media agencies. Ogilvy India has been assigned the creative mandate, while Equinox, the second agency from ZenithOptimedia, has bagged the media mandate. According to sources close to the development, the account size is estimated in the region of Rs 8-10 crore.
