Looking back, it was a week that saw some top level changes. Indian agencies managed Silvers at the One Show Awards this year. Meanwhile, Jagran Group’s Sanjay Gupta had much to share on India’s print industry, the digital drive and the Jagran-Mid Day pact one year down the line…
“Unlike television, it is about at least three to four weeks of radio that shows some kind of numbers that need to be reported. So, our belief was that radio should be reported more on a monthly basis and not on a weekly basis, because that tends to give wrong information to clients or players or media people,” says Rana Barua, Business Head, Red FM.
Stationary advertising in print dropped 12 per cent in 2010 vis-à-vis 2009. The top five advertisers contributed to 57 per cent of the total ad volumes with Archies Ltd leading at 18 per cent share.
“We are proud to be in print at this moment, because of the credibility of the medium and the way it is being run. We are not averse to television, but we are not getting into television for another four to five years,” says Sanjay Gupta, CEO and Editor, Jagran Group.
Following a multi-agency pitch, Honda Siel has consolidated its media business with ZenithOptimedia. The business was hitherto divided between Dentsu Media and Motivator. The account size is estimated to be in the vicinity of Rs 100 crore.
