Print advertising saw a rise of 21 per cent during 2008 as compared to 2005. Non-metro newspapers had a high share of advertising during the year. Education sector led in print advertising, with educational institutions being the top category in print during 2008. Tata Motors was the number one advertiser in print last year.
CNN-IBN is all set to conduct the ‘CNN-IBN Indian of the Year 2008’ in partnership with Hindustan Times’ for the third time. The award involves a four-tier process and involves the viewers of the channel as well. The nominee announcement process would start on January 12, 2009, and continue till January 17, 2009.

Star Plus has effected changes in its scheduling to house the new show ‘Yeh Rishtaa Kya Kehlata Hai’. Star has put together a host of marketing activities for ‘Yeh Rishta...’ that the channel’s Sr CD Vivek Bahl believes has the potential to be bigger than ‘Bidaai’.
