Red FM Kolkata and Aircel have embarked on a corporate social responsibility drive to make life easier for Kolkatans this monsoon. The month-long drive commenced on July 7. As part of this initiative, umbrellas are being provided at different bus stops in the city. Moreover, special vans and buses have been put into service to help stranded commuters.

Magazine ad pages are down in the throes of economy-wide decreases, largely in the pharmaceutical, automotive and technology categories. Total magazine rate-card-reported advertising revenue for the first half of 2008 posted a 3.1 per cent decline against the previous year, according to Publishers Information Bureau.

Abhijit Pradhan quits Mid-Day, plans own venture to train professionals
Abhijit Pradhan, Director-Sales and Marketing, Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd, has decided to move on. He is planning to start his own venture to impart training to professionals. Pradhan’s role would now be divided between National Sales Head Gaurish Pathare and Marketing Head Neville Bastawalla. They would be reporting to Manajit Ghoshal, who was recently elevated as CEO at Mid-Day Multimedia.
