Print advertising saw a growth of 21% during Jan-Sept 2007 compared to the same period in 2005, with the best coming in the second quarter of 2007. Education, Services and Banking/Finance/Investment were the top three sectors in Print. Telecom products recorded the highest growth of 72%. Maruti Suzuki was the top advertiser during Jan-Sept '07, improving from the 2nd place during Jan-Sept '06.

MPG to handle media duties of Hindustan Pencils
MPG has bagged the media mandate for Hindustan Pencils Ltd, which makes popular brands of pencils such as Apsara and Nataraj. The pitch saw the participation of five agencies – Initiative Media, TME, ZenithOptimedia, Media Directions and MPG. The size of the business is upwards of Rs 5 crore. MediaCom is the incumbent.
