Print ad volumes of two-wheelers declined by 36% during Jan-Aug '07 over Jan-Aug '06. An overwhelming 80% of the advertising share was taken by the ‘Motorcycle’ category. Bajaj Auto was the top advertiser during this period, and TVS Star Spot led among new launches. Interestingly, two-wheeler advertisers preferred non-Metro newspapers.

The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) has said that its directive regarding levy of an input cost inflation surcharge on TV media had been widely welcomed by its member broadcasters, a majority of whom had chosen to heed the advisory. IBF further claimed that several advertisers were also coming forward to accept the surcharge.
