British Telecommunications Plc has announced the appointment of Ganesh K Vanapalli as Chief Security Officer for the Asia Pacific markets, and will be based in Delhi. Vanapalli will work closely with BT’s regional customer services, Business Continuity, Security and Governance (BCS&G) practice headed by General Manager Richard Moss. Prior to this appointment, Vanapalli was at IBM Global Services where he was responsible for delivering state-of-the-art solutions in managing and securing critical information and infrastructure in telecom and government sectors. He brings with him over 27 years of experience in the fields of information security and IT, and has held several key assignments in those domains at various levels, before serving as Director-IT and Information Security in the rank of Captain in the Indian Navy from 2002 to 2004.

Neeraj Kumar has joined Electrolux as VP-Marketing and Strategy. He is reporting to Laura Ashton, President, Electrolux India operations. Prior to this appointment, Kumar was with Beam Global Wine and Spirits as VP-Marketing for the last four years. He had earlier worked with Electrolux from 1998 to 2003, where he was handling the marketing, advertising and communications. He has also worked for Pepsi in Kathmandu, prior to his previous stint at Electrolux.

In a move to strengthen its ad sales team, BIG FM has announced three key appointments. Shalini Dureja has been appointed as Regional Sales Head-South. She comes with over a decade’s experience in media. Dureja will overlook the entire ad sales function for the Southern market. Sunita Uchil has been appointed as Regional Sales Head for Maharashtra and Goa. Uchil has more than 13 years of media-sales experience and will be heading the function from Mumbai. Asif Kadri has been appointed as Regional Sales Head-Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. With over 12 years of media experience, Kadri will overlook the ad sales for corporate and retail for the region, from Ahmedabad.
