Time Warner’s Internet unit AOL has promoted Maneesh Dhir as its International Operations Head. He will now be responsible for the company’s overseas business opportunities in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Dhir will report directly to AOL President, Ron Grant. Dhir will be working from the company’s Bangalore office.

Anoop Sequiera, CEO, Pizza Corner, has put in his papers. He will be joining Starbucks as CEO on February 21 and would be based in Delhi. Starbucks Corp, the world’s biggest coffee-shop chain, is all set to enter India in partnership with Pantaloon’s Kishore Biyani and V P Sharma, head of the US company’s Indonesian franchise.

Prasoon Joshi has been chosen as one of the judges for Spikes 2007, which will be held at Bali on April 25-27. Spikes, aka the Asian Advertising Awards, have also announced a 20 per cent increase in entries received by the first entry deadline compared to the same period in 2006. The company has appointed Bimal Nair as Executive Vice-President, after Deb Sen left for Malaysia to manage the Kuala Lumpur office.
