IFRA India 2006, in its 14th year now, commenced in Chennai from Wednesday. The annual conference is organised by the Indian subsidiary of IFRA. Nearly 400 delegates from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Singapore, Japan, the US, Australia and Germany are taking part in the two-day conference.

Jagran Prakashan, publishers of ‘Dainik Jagran’, has announced an in-principle agreement under which it will publish the facsimile edition of The Independent (International Edition) of London from the Capital. The Jagran Group is also in talks to sell 20 per cent stake in its radio arm to the Independent Group.
