Industry leaders have wholeheartedly welcomed the exchange4media Radio Advertising Awards (ERAA). The 1st Annual ERAA is being held in Mumbai on October 7, 2010, and will recognise the best work done between July 2009 and June 2010. Last date for receiving entries is September 20, 2010. Awards would be given in 22 categories.

The Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd (RBNL) and CBS Studios International joint venture, christened BIG CBS Networks Pvt Ltd, will be launching three new English entertainment channels customised for the Indian market. The channels will premier in the fourth quarter of 2010 and mark RBNL’s foray into the TV business in India, and also marks the entry of CBS into the Indian market.

Big FM continues its undisputed lead in the Bangalore market in the morning slot between 7 am and 11 am. As per RAM data for Week 31, the FM station has garnered a market share of 20.7 per cent. Placed second is Radio Mirchi, which has secured a market share of 16.9 per cent, followed by Radio City with a 12.8 per cent market share.

Zee TV has inked an agreement with The Nielsen Company, wherein the latter will monitor its television ratings and trends in top US markets. The agreement is claimed to be the first-of-its-kind in the South Asian entertainment industry.

FMCG major Dabur India Ltd has zeroed in on OgilvyAction as its activation agency, according to senior sources in the industry. The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch process held last month. OgilvyAction will soon kickstart a BTL campaign in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
