The Walt Disney Company India has signed a multi-year agreement with Sun Distribution Services, a division of Sun Network Group, for its channel distribution. The deal, which comes into effect from April 1, 2010, will include channels such as Disney Channel, Disney XD and Hungama TV. Until now, these channels were a part of Star Den’s distribution network.

The Government was likely to implement content regulation in three tiers for news channels, said Uday Kumar Varma, Special Secretary, MIB, at the three-day Convergence India 2010 conference that got underway in Delhi on March 24. While the first two tiers will be offered for self-regulation, the third tier will be an independent autonomous body.
