Digitisation of distribution platforms was supposed to be the answer to reducing dependence on ad revenues and leading to subscription. But instead, broadcasters have added another complication to the list. It is this slow takeoff of digital distribution platforms that has become one of the key reasons that have kept television behind mediums such as print and online when it comes to specialised content.
