Viacom18 has announced some key changes in its organisation structure. Rajesh Kamat has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Viacom18 Group. Ashish Patil is moved from MTV to Kamat’s team as Sr. VP- New Ventures and GM - Youth Movies. INX Media’s Vikas Verma has joined Viacom18’s youth channel, as the head of Creative & Content – brand MTV.

Law & Kenneth has been assigned the creative mandate for S Kumars Nationwide Ltd’s new brand for the mass market, called World Player. The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch. The brand is being launched this month and is targeted at small towns and rural areas. Industry sources have pegged the account size at Rs 30 crore for the first year.

Following a multi-agency pitch, IDFC (Infrastructure Development Finance Company) Mutual Funds, a private sector diversified financial institution, has awarded its creative mandate to TBWA\India. The account size is pegged at Rs 15 crore. There was no incumbent agency, while Mindshare handles the media business of IDFC.

HT Media more than doubled its net profit in the third quarter ended December 31, 2009 to Rs 184.2 million from Rs 78.2 million in Q3 FY09 due to sharp increase in circulation and advertising revenues. The company has demerged its Hindi business that includes daily ‘Hindustan’, magazines ‘Nandan’ and Kadambini’ during the quarter for Rs 1.4 billion and has temporarily shut down the loss making JV with BCCL, ‘Metro Now’.

Palasa Creative House, a Mumbai-based agency set up in 2004 by Sandeep Bomble, has started off 2010 on a good note, adding three new businesses to its kitty. They include My, a recently- introduced toy brand; G-Data, a German anti-virus software from ACI Infocom; and JJ Institute of Applied Art alumni’s creative mandate. The cumulative account size is pegged in the region of Rs 6-8 crore.
