STAR, a wholly owned subsidiary of News Corporation and one of Asia’s leading media and entertainment companies, on Friday, September 25, 2009 announced the launch of four new South Asian channels on Comcast’s Chicago area cable platform. The channels – Star Plus, Star One, Star News, and Star Gold – were launched on September 24, 2009 with an aim to create a robust and desirable Hindi entertainment package.

Sachin Mohite has been appointed as Programming Head at Miditech Mumbai. He will be reporting to Manisha Tripathi, President, Miditech Pvt Ltd and will specifically drive the development and production of fiction programming for Miditech’s customers in Hindi and in Marathi, based out of Mumbai. Mohite is an accomplished professional in the media industry and has been involved with significant projects in the media and entertainment sector. He returns to Miditech and brings with him 12 years of experience in television, from conceiving and developing ideas to complete production and post production. Mohite most recently served as Creative Director, Real, and prior to that, he was with Big TV, Reliance Group, heading their regional and national production house.

In his new role as the overall head of India operations, Braganza will oversee sales and marketing, manufacturing and all support functions. Prior to joining Haier, Braganza had held senior management positions like COO of Electrolux Hyundai Division; Director – Exports, Director - Sales and Marketing at Videocon Industries Ltd. With over 32 years of professional experience, Braganza brings with him vast knowledge and expertise in the field of consumer durables. Meanwhile, current Whole Time Director & COO of Haier Appliances India, Pranay Dhabhai, has decided to move on to start a new venture. Commenting on his decision, Dhabhai said, “It has been a memorable experience for me to be a part of Haier’s India journey and I am leaving the company as a much more enriched professional.”

KI is a wholly owned IPG company in India, and has begun operations with seven clients including a large international telecom company. The near future would see N P Sathyamurthy head the agency as its CEO.
