Following months of speculation, NDTV and Turner finally announced their decision to enter a deal where Turner would acquire 76 per cent of NDTV Imagine for $67 million. This, combined with the subscription of fresh shares in the company for an addition $50 million, would take Turner’s stake in Imagine to over 90 per cent. NDTV officials inform that the activities of the last two months have made NDTV a “debt-free and a cash rich” company. This move also reiterates Turner’s aggression to be in this space in India.
