Ruby Mitra has joined BEI Confluence, Delhi, as Creative Director. Her last stint was with RK Swamy BBDO, Chennai, as Assistant Creative Director where she spent two and a half years. At RK Swamy BBDO, she has worked on brands like Sony TV, Brylcream, Karur Vyasa Bank, some brands of Hindustan Latex, Videocon, Pril dishwash bar, Mr White detergent, etc. Mitra has previously done stints with IB&W, Leo Burnett and FCB-Ulka.

The company, which has a 35 per cent share of the Rs 1,600-crore household insecticide market, is backing the re-branding exercise with a Rs 82-crore communication budget, to be spent over the next three months.

STAR to acquire 20 pc stake in Radio City

STAR Group has announced its plans to acquire 20 per cent stake in Music Broadcast Pvt Ltd (MBPL), promoter of Radio City. STAR is buying this stake from venture capital fund India Value Fund (IVF), which will bring down the latter’s stake in MBPL to 55 per cent from the current 75 per cent. It may be recalled that STAR had sold its stake in MBPL to IVF in early 2005.

India Digital Summit : Broadband should be defined as 2 mbps, says Dayanindhi Maran

The later sessions of the India Digital Summit, which commenced in the Capital on January 18, saw more discussions on broadband and connectivity issues. The year 2007, which has been declared as the Year of the Broadband is set to witness a new revolution in this field. Setting the tone, Dayanidhi Maran, Union Minister of Communications and IT, said, “Broadband should be defined as 2mbps.”
