He will report to Sanjay Bose, GM-South, and Drubjajyoti Gayan, VP, TBWA India PR. Before joining Vaishnavi four years ago, Balakrishnan ran his own PR firm, prior to which he was with Sampark PR and Capital Images.

She will report to Bimal Nair, Senior VP and Branch Head, Contract, Chennai. Daniel had earlier worked with Mudra, Cricinfo and Sify. She was with Rediffusion for the last four years.

Bhatt, General Manager, Marketing and Operations, Divya Bhaskar, Delhi, has previously held charge of Dainik Bhaskar's flagship edition in Indore. Prior to that, Bhatt has held key positions in the marketing departments of Bajaj Auto and Eicher group for 16 years.

It's homecoming for Manoj Malkani. The head of Broadcast Investments for the North and West regions at Starcom has decided to go back to Carat Media , which he had quit to join Starcom in mid-2005. Malkani has moved back to Carat as Associate Media Director. He will report to Pradeep Iyengar, Vice -President , Carat (West). At Starcom, Varghese Thomas has been given the responsibility of the North and West regions until a new hand is identified to replace Malkani.

Sudhir Vohra, after completing a year with Divya Bhaskar as Senior General Manager, Marketing and Operations, Delhi, has moved to Jaipur as Senior GM-Special Projects, for Dainik Bhaskar in Rajasthan. Vohra has been with the Bhaskar group for five years now, starting in 2000 as Branch Controller for the Rajasthan editions. He then moved to Bhopal as the Senior GM. Vohra then moved to Delhi, looking after marketing operations for Divya Bhaskar.

Puri started his advertising career in 1995 and has worked with Enterprise Nexus, Ambience Publicis, Quadrant ad Euro RSCG. His memorable work at Triton was for Eureka Forbes.

Gitanjali Singh has joined the Outlook Group as Marketing Manager for Marie Claire, the international women’s magazine slated for launch shortly. Singh started her career as a freelancer with Hindustan Times. After that she worked with Discovery Channel as Assistant Manager for four and a half years. She worked for a year and a half with India Today Group’s Lifestyle division as Senior Brand Manager prior to taking up the new assignment.

Shravani Sen has joined Synovate India and will head qualitative research for the north and east. She will be based in New Delhi. Sen moves from TNS Dubai, where she was responsible for ‘key’ account management and expanding research to new markets like Iran, etc. Sen’s earlier stints were with IMRB, erstwhile MARG and HTA, and she has a work experience of 10 years. She will be responsible for launching Synovate’s QR solutions in areas of concept ideation, shopper behaviour, motivation and segmentation.

The 40th International Advertising Association (IAA) World Congress is all set to kick off in Dubai on March 20, 2006. Over 2,000 local, regional and international delegates from over 50 countries are expected to take part in the event.
